John Cena still isn't ready to take his relationship to the next level.
The "Cenation" leader has been dating Nikki Bella for nearly four years, but despite their longevity, he has refused to pop the question or think about starting a family.
Cena and the longest-reigning Divas Champion in WWE history are clearly madly in love with each other, but they have different ideals when it comes to their future.
Bella has made no secret of the fact that she wants to be Mrs. Cena and have children. Cena, meanwhile, has his reservations about marriage and doesn't want to have children until he's ready to be an active father, which he can't do given his busy schedule.
Cena was once again asked about the marriage topic and intimated that his past marriage with Elizabeth Huberdeau may be holding him back.
"A lot of that was because of my inability to be a good husband," Cena told Rolling Stone of the failures of his first marriage, "but then Nicole strolled into my life, and that did it."
Cena, who announced he'll return to the WWE on Memorial Day after missing time with a shoulder injury, has been emphatic about the fact that he doesn't want to get married or start a family and despite their issues, the couple has maintained their tight bond.
"Look, I know I cannot handle raising a child. It's like with the dog," Cena told the publication. "My biggest thing to Nicole about the dog was: Love dogs, but I can't contribute to taking care of one. I don't have the time. And just because everyone else is happy with children doesn't mean that's how I have to live. I've been upfront about this.
"I just have things I need to get done. It's not negotiable. We've been to therapy over it. I don't think it will ever be over with. I'm stubborn as f--k and extremely selfish as well. I don't want kids, I don't want marriage. That's me just saying, 'Hey, this is my life and this is how I'm going to live.'"
The 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion appeared to be slowly changing his stance on marriage, but if that recent interview is any indication, Bella shouldn't hold her breath.
Bella may not live out her dream of becoming Mrs. Cena anytime soon.
