Aaron Hernandez News Update: Shayanna Jenkins Back In Court On Perjury Charges [VIDEO]

Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancee of jailed former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, is due in a Falls River court on Wednesday for another hearing on the perjury charges she faces stemming from the murder case he faces.

Prosecutors charge Jenkins repeatedly lied to investigators and the grand injury that ultimately indicted Hernandez in the killing of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. In addition, authorities allege she disposed of evidence at his request, including a box she was captured on surveillance removing from their North Attleborough home. She later told investigators she couldn't remember where she had discarded it.

Jenkins has pleaded not guilty to the charges, with her attorney, Janice Bassil, adding "prosecutors are being heavy-handed and have no evidence against his client."

Hernandez, 23, remains jailed without bail and relegated to solitary confinement. Police have speculated he may have killed Lloyd because he had knowledge of other violent crimes the former Florida star is alleged to have been involved in.

Boston police have already empaneled another grand jury to investigate his potential involvement in a 2012 drive-by, double-slaying that remains unsolved. Investigators have indicated they later recovered the vehicle believed to have been used in the crime parked inside a garage at a home rented in the name of Hernandez's uncle.
