Ryan Lochte Robbed Gunpoint: IOC Denies Swimmer's Story During 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games [VIDEO]

Ryan Lochte reportedly was held up at gunpoint and robbed this past weekend, a story that the IOC has denied.

The swimmer attended a party thrown by Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira with three of his teammates when the alleged incident occurred.

Lochte and three other swimmers were in a cab when the driver was pulled over by men flashing badges and pretending to be police, according to TMZ Sports. The fake cops then told all of them to get down on the ground and while the rest of them obliged, Lochte refused to do so -- stating he did nothing wrong.

One of the robbers then pulled out a gun, cocked it and put it to Lochte's head, demanding his wallet, the site reports. Lochte obliged, forking over his wallet to the armed man. The Olympic swimmer was spotted out at a club where Pereira's party was occurring prior to the incident.

Locthe's mother called the ordeal "terrifying" and said her son called up her up right after it happened. The International Olympic Committee has denied the story, calling it "absolutely not true," while the United States Olympic Committee also claimed the story wasn't true without speaking to anyone involved, according to TMZ Sports.

Hours after the incident, there was no contact between the IOC or USOC with the victims, even though all four of them live in Olympic village in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. An official from the USOC told the affiliate that they couldn't confirm anything happened and they believed nothing happened -- especially after the IOC's statement, though their investigation (or lack thereof) wasn't thorough.

TMZ Sports also reports that the IOC failed to contact any of the swimmers or Lochte's mom to confirm the story.

Lochte, 32, won an Olympic gold medal for the men's 4x200 meter freestyle relay, giving him six Olympic gold medals and 12 Olympic medals overall for his career. He last participated in the men's 200 meter individual medley, where he finished fifth.
