NBA Trade Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins to Golden State Warriors, Anderson Varejao to Sacramento Kings A Possibility Before Trade Deadline

The Golden State Warriors have been the best NBA team in the regular season since Steve Kerr took over the head coaching position. Since the 2015-2016 season, the Dubs have a combined 175-30 win-loss record. They have reached two consecutive NBA Finals, winning the title in 2015.

And after placing their names in NBA history as the winningest team in the NBA regular season at 73-9, they look more dangerous this season. They have just acquired the biggest free agent in the offseason in Kevin Durant. But for Durant to sign up, they let go of key players last season like Andrew Bogut, Harrison Barnes, Marreese Speights and Leandro Barbosa.

With a 35-6 win-loss record, they now hold the top spot in the NBA with 3.5 games gap over the second place San Antonio Spurs. They lost to their greatest rival Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day as Kyrie Irving hits a game-winning shot to seal the deal. But they had their revenge as they pound the Cavs on Martin Luther King Day with a score of 126-91.

Zaza Pachulia is already proving that he deserves to be the Dubs' starting center. But it is clear that DeMarcus Cousins is a much better center than Zaza. And according to Golden State Of Mind, the Warriors should pursue the DeMarcus Cousins-Anderson Varejao trade.

DeMarcus Cousins is having his best NBA season so far. In 39 games this season, he is averaging 28.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists as per Basketball Reference. But despite his individual success, he failed to carry his team to the NBA postseason.

Now on his seventh season with the Kings, he still didn't experience playing in the playoffs. Now at 16-24, the Kings is 10th in the Western Conference. They lost five of their last six games.

With the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, Cousins could sign a very lucrative contract with the Kings when he becomes a free agent in 2018. But the way the Kings are playing right now, it doesn't look like the Kings will compete for a championship anytime soon.

If he signs with the Warriors, he could instantly belong to a powerhouse team competing for a championship. Will the Golden State Warriors pursue DeMarcus Cousins?
