CM Punk Eager To Fight Whether Its UFC Or Anywhere Else

Former WWE Star CM Punk who has moved to UFC has revealed that he is working hard to get his next fight in UFC. While attending NHL All-Star weekend on Saturday night, he spoke about his future plans.

"I am working on it feverishly," said CM Punk as reported in wrestlingnewsworld. "I'm throwing names at Dana [White], you know? Opponents and dates. I don't know if he's waiting for a Chicago show or what the deal is."

The 38-year-old WWE wrester had his UFC debut in September 2016. The match was not much pleasing and a bit embarrassing while Mickey Gall mercifully defeated CM Punk who submitted in less than three minutes. It was at UFC 203 - with sold out crowd of 18,785 - where CM Punk's journey to the Octagon perished. But yet, CM Punk wants to return to the Octagon for the second shot.

UFC President, Dana White does support CM Punk but after his last match against Mickey Gall at UFC 203, he said that Punk's next fight should be in a lower tier promotion. "He probably shouldn't have his next fight in the UFC," White said following the UFC 203 pay-per-view event as reported in MMAweekly.

But whether its' UFC or anywhere else, Punk is ready to fight anywhere. "If it doesn't happen in the UFC, then it will happen somewhere else.  I'm dedicated to fighting and training," Punk said.

CM Punk left WWE just to become an MMA fighter. Punk was WWE champion from November 2011 to January 2013 for 434 days which is sixth longest run of all-time in WWE history.

In the year 2014, Punk joined UFC and signed a multi-fight contract. The folliwing year in 2015, Punk began his training under Duke Roufus MMA Academy. But because of his shoulder injury, Punk did not fight in the year 2015. Finally in September 2016, he made his debut at the Quicken Loans Arena. Punk lost to Mickey Gall via rear naked choke at 2:14 of the first round.
