NBA Trade Rumors: Portland Trail Blazers Reportedly Interested Of Acquiring Serge Ibaka From The Orlando Magic [VIDEO]

Trade rumors to the Orlando Magic still swirl the news nowadays. After being linked to numerous trade deals the past few months, recent report again floated that they are plunging to trade market and try to salvage their season. And it looks like that the Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly looking at making a trade with them and currently interested on Magic's forward Serge Ibaka.

Ibaka has been a familiar figure in the rumor mills as of late. Though he is an established player and a proven superstar, many believed that it is a mistake that the Magic trade for him as he never fit to Magic coach Frank Vogel's system. And exploring a trade for him could be a plausible option for them right now as per a recent report.

According to Sporting News, the Orlando Magic are said to be making a big effort to trade Serge Ibaka as the trade deadline is nearing. The Magic expects that Ibaka will bring in his defensive skill to help the team in that area but it seems that he is a disappointment. At this time, they are ranked 22nd in terms of defensive efficiency allowing 107 points per 100 possession.

Aside from defense, their offense is also a big letdown as they only producing 101.1 points per 100 possession. With this, Magic general manager Rob Hennigan earlier stated that they be "active" on the trade market and will try to find a solution to their misery. And it appears that the Trail Blazers could be a potential trade partner for them.

According to Blazer's Edge, the Portland Trail Blazers is one of the many teams that have shown an interest in making a deal to the Magic and seems to be targeting power Serge Ibaka. The Trail Blazers also wants to upgrade their defense as they are presently ranked 26th in defensive efficiency and having Ibaka could somehow give them much improvement in that department.

On the Magic's part, this could also be a perfect opportunity for them to explore their option for Ibaka who will become an unrestricted free agent after this season. Rather than lose him as a free agent, it would be best for the Magic to trade him and get a valuable return like young players or future picks that they wanted. But as of this moment, the Trail Blazers have not tender any trade offers to the Magic.

Nevertheless, the rumored deal between the Orlando Magic and Portland Trail Blazers involving Serge Ibaka is still speculation as none of the teams involved have commented or confirmed this trade.
