Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre Mega Fight Very Much Still A Possibility

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has been in the UFC long enough that anytime he steps into the octagon, it's always a big draw and tickets are always sold out. Same goes for George St-Pierre. That's why a mega fight between Anderson Silva and George St-Pierre would surely bring in big money.

Anderson Silva just recently said that he's still interested in a mega fight with Georges St-Pierre, according to a report from Fox sports. According to Anderson Silva, a fight between him and Georges St-Pierre would be great for the fans. Anderson Silva also added that the mega fight would be good for the UFC as it showcase two of the biggest names in the sport who are now considered as legends.

"Of course," Anderson Silva said in an interview with Fox Sports. "I think super fight with Georges is great. It's a big step for this sport because I think super fight with me and Georges St-Pierre or Conor McGregor is good for this sport and for the fans."

Long before Conor McGregor and Jon Jones became the main events in UFC fight cards and the topic of super fight conversations, a proposed mega fight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre dominated the conversation. Both Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre are at the peak of their fight game and have dominated the UFC for years in their respective divisions that a fight between the two would be all about legacy, via a report from MMA Mania.

A mega fight between the Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre, however, never materialized despite great interest from fans and the UFC. Even after several years and both fighters seemingly past their prime, a fight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre still has great interest from fight fans and the UFC.

Anderson Silva, 41, may not be the same fighter as he used to be when he was the UFC middleweight champion but he's still considered the greatest fighter ever to fight in the UFC. Georges St-Pierre, 35, was a nine-time defending welterweight champion before stepping away from the sport three years ago. Georges St-Pierre, however, has shown interest in returning to the octagon if a new deal is agreed upon with UFC.
