Detective Billy Malone, the boyfriend of Felicity Smoak has just died previously. Now, this would be enough to change the personality of Felicity, leading her to have turned to the darker side of the world in the upcoming season.
Just after the jump drive, it became pretty clear that she has stolen valuable NSA data. This would signal more interesting consequences to this serious matter. All of these started off as she used the top secret files in hopes of freeing Diggle.
Curtis and Rory are then forced to disguise as Brava enforcer as they blackmail an official saying that they had stolen previous information from the NSA. According to Mic, season 5 would dwell more on the schemes that Oliver Queen has, that will affect the other characters in the plotline.
Amell says on Entertainment Weekly that Oliver knows what Felicity is planning and that even if he doesn't know what it is, he knows that she is up to something. He also knows that Felicity won't tell her anything about the plan, and so he will find it out for himself.
However, there is a possibility that the two will discuss this in the near future where the proper place and time is right. According to Carter Matt, season 5 would see Oliver facing off against Vigilante. However, he won't need any costume to do the fighting, as he will be himself, dressed up as the mayor.
Hence, Oliver needs to battle out his rivals without revealing who he really is. This will surely be an interesting thing to look forward to as season 5 of "Arrow" would deal more at Green Arrow's personal battles as he takes extreme measures to take care of himself.
