Chavo Guerrero Sr. Dies At 68 Of Liver Cancer

Chavo Guerrero Sr. died from liver cancer on February 11 at the age of 68. Chavo Guerrero Jr. who is former WWE superstar confirmed his father's death on Instagram, "Today the world lost a true rebel. He did things "HIS" way. Not always right, not always wrong, but He always followed what he believed in."

Chavo Sr. was from one of the senior members from wrestling family and the brother of WWE wrestler Eddie Guerrero, who died in 2005 due to heart failure. Chavo Sr. was diagnosed with liver cancer in early January.

Guerrero was best known for his work in NWA Wrestling territory, Guerrero held the title for 15 times and feuded with rival "Rowdy" Roddy Piper who is included in WWE Hall of fame.

Chavo Sr. was the oldest child of Gory and Herlinda Guerrero. Guerrero family produced a number of wrestlers from time to time. Gory Guerrero was into wrestling at the age of 13 and he was considered as one of the biggest stars from 1940's to the 1960's as reported by Toronto Sun. Gori and Herlinda had two girls Maria and Linda and four boys and all of these boys went on to become wrestlers: Salvador (Chavo) Guerrero, Armando "Mando" Guerrero, Hector Guerrero and Eduardo "Eddy" Guerrero.

He had a memorable run with WWE in the year 2004 when he was 55. Chavo Sr. went on to become the oldest cruiserweight champion when he accidently pinned his son during a triple threat match against Spike Dudley. He joined his son Chavo Jr. in a fight against his own brother Eddie Guerrero as reported by ESPN.

Colt Toombs who his son of late Piper made a tweet expressing his condolence and love for Guerrero, "I love you uncle @ChavoGuerrero_ I'll miss our late night talks! Stay strong @mexwarrior he was one HELL of a man!!" Triple H also wrote on twitter, "Chavo Sr. was one of a kind. He did things his own way & entertained fans for 20+ years. My thoughts are with the entire Guerrero family."
