Holly Holm Appeals UFC 208 Loss Against Germaine de Randamie, Dutch Fighter Open For A Rematch

Holly Holm has officially filed an appeal to question her loss against Germaine de Randamie during the UFC 208 Holm vs Randamie featherweight title bout. Hold has filed her appeal with the New York State Athletic Commission.

According to MMA Fighting, the former UFC women's bantamweight champion's appeal was for the New York State Athletic Commission to review Todd Anderson's decision not to penalize Germaine de Randamie for throwing punches after the bell rang. Todd Anderson was the referee during the Holm vs Randamie woman's featherweight title match.

Holm's appeal mentioned that de Randamie continued to throw punches at Holm well beyond the bell after Rounds 2 and 3 during their UFC 208 title match. According to Yahoo Sports, Holm's appeal was filed by attorneys Breanna Houghton and Paul Bardacke.

The appeal filed before the NYSAC basically states that Anderson failed to assess a foul and impose a point deduction following the Rounds 2 and 3 infraction of de Randamie. Anderson even failed to warn de Randamie after the first time she kept throwing blows at Holms after the bell rang.

When the Dutch striker repeated the infraction, Anderson gave de Randamie a warning. However, a point deduction should have already been imposed at that time.

One of the late punches thrown by de Randamie against Holm after the Second Round bell appeared to have wobbled the former UFC women's bantamweight champion. The wobbliness could have affected Holm's performance during the fight.

According to New York Post, de Randamie is open to having a Holm vs de Randamie 2. The Dutch fighter also expressed her sadness for being branded as a dirty fighter.

Holm would have scored a draw if a point deduction was imposed by Anderson against de Randamie when she threw punches beyond the third round bell. Holm would have won the featherweight belt during UFC 208 Holm v Randamie fight if a deduction was also imposed for the second round infraction.
