A sequel, "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey", was released two years later. In "Bill and Ted 3", Keanu Reeves reprises his role as Ted "Theodore" Logan with Alex Winter also returning as Bill S. Preston.

According to Keanu Reeves, "Bill and Ted 3" will follow up on what has happened in the lives both Bill S. Preston and Ted "Theodore" Logan after their adventures in "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey". Age has caught up with the two heroes and unfortunately, Bill and Ted has apparently not lived up to their potential. Both of them are coping with everyday problems like marital problems and having kids of their own.

Keanu Reeves is riding on the success of "John Wick" and "John Wick: Chapter 2". "John Wick: Chapter 2" has received favorable reviews with some even saying it's better than the first one, via a report from The Vulture. With the success of both films, Keanu Reeves is the hottest actor in town and doing "Bill and Ted 3" is definitely a smart move.
