Trading Derrick Rose, their starting point guard, for the Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio is seen as a desperate move to make a final push for the playoffs. But, this is the New York Knicks, a franchise known for the last several years for its dysfunctional owner and management. So, like any other things involving the New York Knicks, the deal fell thru.

Aside from the straight up Derrick Rose for Ricky Rubio trade, the New York Knicks wanted an additional piece. The Minnesota Timberwolves balked at the proposed trade offer.
