According to ESPN, after the Chicago Bears declined to apply the franchise tag to wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, he expressed his intention of signing with a contender and test the free-agent market. This will be the first time for Jeffery to plunge the trade market after being drafted by the Bears in 2012 and teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams have already shown interest in him.
However, Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace said that they are still aiming to re-sign Alshon Jeffery and they have until March 7 to negotiate and try to sign him on a new contract. But the San Francisco 49ers could be one of the top teams that will surely chase him.
