'Overwatch' News And Updates: Orisa Unveiled As New Hero, Ability Breakdown, Gameplay Video,

"Overwatch" has finally unveiled Orisa, a quadruped robot whose abilities make her a versatile tank. She will be the 24th hero to join the roster of "Overwatch" and is now available for testing in the public testing realm.

The reveal confirmed the fan theories that Efi Oladele will create a robot that will be the next playable character for "Overwatch". Orisa was made by discarded defense robot parts that Efi Oladele modified and added its own artificial intelligence to make the hero the Efi has envisioned according to Polygon.

In terms of Orisa's fighting capabilities, the new "Overwatch" hero is primarily a tank who can serve as the anchor of the team. Orisa's diverse set of abilities makes her a versatile tank that which has offensive, defensive and supportive capabilities. A list of her abilities can be found on the official "Overwatch" website.

Orisa's primary weapon is called the Fusion Driver that is basically a chain gun with decent range and is capable of sustained damage. The Fusion Driver gives Orisa the longest range among all "Overwatch" tanks which greatly boosts her offensive capabilities. It does, however, slow Orisa's movement while firing and does have a wide bullet spread which can make it harder to aim.

Fortify is a defensive ability that reduces the damage Orisa sustains once activated. As an added bonus, it negates most of the action impairing effect from several "Overwatch" heroes including Roadhog's hook and Reinhardt's stun. It's perfect for fighting heroes up close as it reduces damages and negates some abilities.

Halt is the alternative fire for Orisa that fires a green orb which can detonate. Once the orb explodes nearby "Overwatch" heroes are pulled towards the explosion and slows them. While the area of effect for the explosion is small, it does provide unique opportunities like pulling an enemy hero towards a cliff.

Orisa's protective barrier allows "Overwatch" players to deploy a stationary barrier that can protect her and her allies from enemy fire. Its low cooldown ensures Orisa from always having a barrier present at all times.

Lastly her ultimate, the supercharger, gives Orisa the ability to deploy a device that increases the damage inflicted by allies within range. This gives her a unique support ability that can prove the difference in defending an area in "Overwatch."

Given her abilities, Orisa gives "Overwatch" players another alternative tank with well-rounded abilities. It will be interesting to see how "Overwatch" players can make use of Orisa's unique abilities.
