The dilemma over various Wrestlamania was uplifted after Sunday's WWE Fastlane 2017 results. Despite that, the par-per-view on Sunday was a pale one with much left to be desired.
It was the most disappointing pay-per-view after the recent extension of brand in the WWE, in a most awaited clash, Goldberg pinned Kevin Owens in 22 seconds to win the WWE Universal Championship. It was one of few head-scratching results in the event.
This fastest victory raised Goldberg's ring time since his comeback to 5:07 minutes which includes win against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam, ring time at the Royal Rumble and another quick win against Kevin Owens at the WWE Fastlane 2017.
Up next at the Wrestlemania, Goldberg will face Brock Lesnar in a title match that will add more prestige to an already marquee contest. But many have questioned the Fastlane title match where Owens was simple beaten and this rumor of a quick turn over was circulating in social media from quite some time.
Other WWE Fastlane 2017 results includes Samoa Joe defeating Sami Zayn via submission in 9 minutes and 45 seconds. Joe's unbeaten run at WWE continues when he puts Sami Zayn to sleep with the Coquina Clutch. Joe was physically dominant throughout and Zayn was unable to cope with some high intensity moves from his opponent.
On the other hand, Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax via pinfall. Banks was defeated by the same opponent in the Royal Rumble where she struggled to get a grip in the game. In the Fastlane, she was more into it and dominated Jax's attempts to take control of the game. She won the game by flipping out and reversing Jax into a roll up, bridging her body to secure the pinfall.
In other games at Fastlane, Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa defeated Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar via pinfall. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass via pinfall in a Raw tag team Championship match. The Big Show defeated Rusev via pinfall, Cruiserweight Champion Neville defeated Jack Gallagher to retain the title. In another marquee contest, Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman via pinfall.
Meanwhile, during the Fastlane event, Paul Heyman refused to accept that Brock Lesnar was in the building and also stated that result of the main event would benefit Lesnar as it would expose more flaws in Goldberg and turn the Wrestlemania match into a WWE Universal Championship match, as it turned out Lesnar and Heyman had no flaws to witness during the game.
