In Less Than A Minute Andrew Bogut's Injury May Have Cost Cleveland Cavaliers' Hopes Of Defending Championship

The NBA is a game of spurts. The outcome of a game can change dramatically in just one minute. One minute you're up big. The next minute you're lead is gone and now you're down big. Same thing goes when you're talking about a team's championships aspirations. One minute can change everything. Just ask Andrew Bogut and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Just last Monday, Andrew Bogut made his much awaited debut as a Cleveland Cavalier and fans were eagerly awaiting his debut, only to be left shocked when Andrew Bogut went down with a left leg injury and never returned. Barely a minute in the second quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Miami Heat, Andrew Bogut fractured his left tibia and with it the Cleveland Cavaliers' chances of a back to back title may have come crashing down as well, according to a report from ESPN.

Andrew Bogut got injured as he ran from the shaded area and tried to close out on Miami Heat forward Okaro White, who was at the corner, behind the three point line, via a report from ESPN. Okaro White left knee crashed into the left shin of Andrew Bogut and as result, fracturing Andrew Bogut's left tibia. The Cleveland Cavaliers went on to lose the game, 106-98.

With the arrival of Deron Williams, Andrew Bogut was seen as the final piece of the puzzle in the Cleveland Cavaliers title defense. In Deron Williams, the Cleveland Cavaliers found the perfect backup for All Star point guard Kyrie Irving. Andrew Bogut was supposed to be the solid backup for Tristan Thompson that the Cleveland Cavaliers were looking for.

Even if Andrew Bogut is already 32 years old, he's still a solid rim protector and has championship experience, having played in two NBA finals with the Golden state Warriors and winning one title. The Cleveland Cavaliers would surely need him in the playoffs. Instead, everything changed in less than a minute and the Cleveland Cavaliers are back to square one in looking for another big guy.
