Tony Ferguson Displeased With UFC, Rejects UFC 210 Fight With Khabib, Wants Bigger Pay

Tony Ferguson seems to be displeased with the UFC as reports are suggesting of a canceled UFC 210 bout that was supposed to feature "El Cucuy." The Lightweight contender was supposed to fight for the interim title but a failed weight cut from Khabib led to the cancellation of the bout. Now it looks like it will be harder for the #1 and #2 lightweight contenders to fight.

UFC 210 is about less than a month away but the UFC is still looking to add another marquee fight. Bloody Elbow reports that the UFC tried to rebook the Tony Ferguson, Khabib Nurmagomedov fight for the event but has failed to do so. It is suggested that Tony Ferguson has rejected the fight for an unconfirmed reason.

Meanwhile, MMA News suggests that Tony Ferguson was also offered a fight against former champion Eddie Alvarez but was again rejected by Ferguson. As such Eddie Alvarez will be fighting Dustin Poirier at UFC 211. It looks like UFC is trying their best to schedule a match for Ferguson in an effort to make up for the canceled UFC 209 bout.

But what's more surprising in the report is that Tony Ferguson has rejected two fights in a row withstanding any injuries or ailments. "El Cucuy" is known to take on all opponents without any preference and has slowly climbed up the rankings en route to a 9 fight win streak. It may be possible that Ferguson has grown tired of the UFC's management and may only be willing to fight for the right amount of money.

Tony Ferguson has recently expressed his displeasure with the UFC regarding his canceled bout with Khabib. Ferguson believes that the company owes him to the full amount of $250,000 of show money for making weight for the title fight. But it was reported that he only got less than half of that. It seems that Ferguson would want a fight with guaranteed money regardless of the fight getting canceled or not.
