iPad Air 3 Release, News, Update: Device To Be Unveiled Either On March 30 Or April 4

If the ongoing speculations and rumors about the iPad Air 3 are to be believed, two dates looks likely for the release of the new Apple tablet. One date mentioned as March 30, which will come during the Apple's Spring Event. On the other hand other reports point to April 4 with the event to be held at the new Apple Park Headquarters.

According to PC Advisor, the release of iPad Air 3 might happen on March 30 in U.K., while in the U.S. it likely is on April 4. The tech website also explains that when purchasing the 12.9-inch iPad Pro on U.S. stores, the choice of local pick up starts on April 4, timed with the opening of the new Apple spaceship-shaped headquarters. However in the U.K., the iPad Air 3 availability will be March 30.

Whatever is the real date for the release of the iPad Air 3, Mac Otakara blogs says that there will be total of four iPad Pro models released this year.  These are the 7.9-inh, 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models of iPad. Three sizes would ship on March 30, except the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which would ship only in May. The said 9.7-inch iPad Pro would likely be the iPad Air 3.

Moreover, it's been two years since the release of the iPad Air 2, that is hinting now at Apple might be discontinuing the iPad Air model entirely. While Apple did release a 9.7in iPad in March 2016, it wasn't the successor to the iPad Air 2 that was awaited, instead a smaller version of the 12.9in iPad Pro, as per Expert Reviews.

The release of the four iPad Pro models would mark the 2nd birthday of the iPad Air 2, that leading to questions from MacWorld that if Apple would kill the iPad Air brand, including laptops. The rumors were headed by speculations of an April event for the iPad Air 3 release and reports of iPad Air 2 stock shortages. It was accompanied by rumors of a March 2017 launch on Jan. 9, together with the rollout of the Apple Pencil.
