Colin Kaepernick News: Jim Harbaugh Confused Over Criticisms Of His Quarterback [VIDEO]

Jim Harbaugh insists he's perplexed by all the criticism directed at second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

"I think he's doing a heck of a job," the San Francisco 49ers coach told ProFootballTalk.com, refuting talk of Kaepernick's growing struggles. "I guess I'd be puzzled to why people would think that. What's most important is what we see. I'm puzzled to why you or anybody else thinks that."

Despite Kaepernick having totaled just 218 passing yards during the 49ers' current two-game losing streak, Harbaugh says he's pleased with the way Kapernick plays, week in and week out.

"He's been consistently good," Harbaugh told ProFootballTalk. "He's been like that every week he's been backup or a starter."

The 49ers entered the season among the favorites to win Super Bowl but now find themselves in danger of missing the playoffs. Kaepernick's struggles have been heightened by the loss and varying levels of missed time by pass-catchers  Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis and Mario Manningham.

When asked if he felt Kaepernick's voice on the offense has been silenced at all given his struggles, and if he had spoken with him about it, Harbaugh told reporters "I don't have a great desire to talk about it outside of our meeting rooms.
