John Stockton, NBA’s Ironman Of His Era, Expressed His Displeasure On NBA Stars Not Playing Games Despite Being Physically Fit

When John Stockton speaks his mind about players resting just because of being tired, he doesn't even need to utter any word to prove his credibility. His stats can speak for itself worthy of criticizing players who aren't willing to take the extra mile.

According to several reports, players who don't play all the games despite being physically fit are earning the ire of the Utah jazz' great floor general. On the tweet of the NY Post's Marc Berman, he mentioned that the 54-year old Stockton was "mad" upon learning that the players are sitting out of the game despite being healthy.

Here in Utah, John Stockton "mad" at the resting of stars. Fans "pay to see their favorites." NBA has "a duty" to do good by paying public.

Stockton, who played his entire 19 seasons in the NBA, is considered as the ironman of his era. During his first three seasons in Utah, he only played a total of 45 games before his streak of not missing a single game for the next 16 seasons while maintaining his high-level of basketball brilliance.

Earlier, his pick-and-roll partner Karl Malone also had his tirade to those who chose (or who were advised) not to play and conserve their energy for something bigger. Larry Brown Sports reported that "The Mailman" is also made about the teams following suit, saying that players who doesn't have a decade of experience should go out on the court and play like he was told to do.

Sports World News previously reported the NBA office contacted Cleveland Cavaliers' GM David Griffin a couple of minutes after announcing their decision to give their all-stars LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love rest against the Los Angeles Clippers. The decision, however, may have a case as Kyrie felt tightness on his knees and Kevin Love just coming from an injury of his own that sidelined him fort almost a month.

A week before that, the Golden State Warriors also gave their stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green rest as they faced the San Antonio Spurs. The "battle of the reserves" ended up with Patty Mills leading the Spurs to snatch a 107-85 victory over the Ian Clark-led Warriors as published by the NBA news.

Picked by the Jazz as their 16^th overall in the 1984 NBA Draft out of Gonzaga, Stockton had a long way to become one of the greatest players who ever donned a Utah Jazz jersey. He holds career averages of 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 10.5 assists during his career that spanned through 1984 to 2003 according to ESPN stats.
