Jose Aldo Doubts Mayweather-McGregor Will Happen

Despite the adverse criticism coming from many directions, the experimental showdown between Floyd Mayweather, Jr., a boxing icon, and Conor McGregor, an MMA superstar, has appeared to be pushing through according to recent swirl of news releases. Dana White, president of UFC, having given his go signal to McGregor to fight Mayweather is the most recent and most important development  as far as the possibility of the fight happening is concerned. But if there is one who doubts the match would happen is the equally world-renowned UFC warrior Jose Aldo.

Jose Aldo had been wrecking havoc in the featherweight division of UFC in his undefeated 10-year MMA supremacy. Only on Dec. 12, 2015 did his reign came to an end when he was knockout 13 seconds into the first round by Conor McGregor. The new Irish UFC featherweight champion eventually left his post vacant when he won another world championship belt in the lightweight division, paving the way for the Brazilian be regain his old long-held crown.

Jose Aldo was apparently on a silent mode in the months of the Mayweather - McGregor build-up. Only this very recently that he contributed his two cents about the controversial proposed bout He believe the fight is going to happen if and only if a sizeable cut of the fight revenue will go to the UFC company. Ado added, Dana White would most likely demand for that big share but with which Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is expected to oppose; the boxer is well-known for collecting the lion's share from proceeds of his fights. Thus far, there is no mention yet about the revenue split between the two camps should the fight eventually happens.

In is easy to remember how Dana White used to oppose the proposed Mayweather-McGregor showdown in a boxing ring, making it clear he will not allow his UFC star fighter from facing Mayweather on accounts of a binding contract. Then, just of late, Dana White had a change of mind, now giving his blessing to Conor McGregor to pursue Floyd Mayweather. He said he will not prevent Conor McGregor from getting rich.  On the flip side, probably Jose Aldo is right. White himself is probably plotting to rake a good fraction of the fight revenue, a co-promoter so to speak.
