NBA News: Jeremy Lin, Brooklyn Nets Do Not Need Rest to Finish Regular Season Strong

The NBA regular season is ending in two weeks and some teams heading to the lottery have shut down some of their players to boost their chances of getting the first overall pick. However, the Brooklyn Nets are not planning to rest Jeremy Lin or any of their players as they looking to finish the season strong.

The Nets currently have the worst record in the NBA with just 18 wins compared to 59 losses. They have the best odds to land the first overall pick in this year's draft but the Boston Celtics have the right to swap picks this year.

So it does not make sense for the Nets to rest their players like Jeremy Lin, who has helped the team win games last month and start April undefeated. Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson told Greg Logan of Newsday that he is not planning to rest any of his players and they want to finish the season strong as they head towards a very trying offseason.

"We're not going to rest. I've been saying how important it is for us to finish the season strong, and I do think seeing more of Jeremy together with the group is helpful also. We'd love to have positive momentum going into this important offseason," Atkinson said.

Jeremy Lin missed a total of 45 games this season due to injuries to his hamstring and ankle. He was signed to a $36 million deal last summer and the Nets would be in a better position if he did not miss time with injuries.

The 28-year-old point guard had a nice game against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday to give them a 2-0 record in April, per CBS Sports. He put up 15 points, six rebounds and six assists while shooting 5-for-10 from the field. The Nets have five games remaining and it starts on Tuesday when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers.

After the game against Philadelphia, Jeremy Lin and the Nets finish the season with three more road games and one home game. They will face the Chicago Bulls twice, the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics.
