NBA Rumors: Jeremy Lin Teaming Up With Milos Teodosic in Brooklyn Next Season?

The Brooklyn Nets are going to active in the free agent market this offseason since they have the second largest salary cap in the league. One of their potential targets is Euroleague star point guard Milos Teodosic, who could provide insurance to the Nets if Jeremy Lin goes down with an injury next season.

According to Nets Daily, Nets general manager Sean Marks went back to Moscow last week to scout Milos Teodosic for the third time and second in a month. Teodosic plays for CSKA Moscow and he is considered as the best player not in the NBA. He is also a free agent of the 2017 Euroleague season.

Teodosic led Serbia to a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics as they fall to the United States. He is already 30 years old but he has helped CSKA Moscow reach the Euroleague Final Four for seven straight seasons. The Nets are surely interested in bringing him to Brooklyn and play alongside Jeremy Lin.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Jeremy Lin is not worried about the prospect of competing for the starting point guard spot against one of the best players in Europe. He noted that he trusts the front office and he knows what his role in the team is.

"I completely trust what they're doing and everything they laid out, and they completely know all my thoughts on everything. Regarding specific players, I don't feel I should comment on that. I know the role they want me to have. They want me to be the guy, they want the ball in my hands. I played shooting guard all of college, too," Lin said.

Jeremy Lin helped the Nets to an impressive 11-13 record in the final two months of the season after starting poorly at 9-49. He missed 46 games in his first year in Brooklyn due to a variety of injuries including a couple to his right hamstring and a right ankle sprain.

The Nets are better off with Jeremy Lin starting at point guard but it's even better to have a backup just in case he gets injured again. Milos Teodosic is the best point guard in Europe and he would give the Nets a great boost next season if he decides to come to the United States.
