Stephen Curry is just warming up for the new season.
The Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry went on a shooting spree on Monday and finished with a career-high 62 points for their third win of the season. The Golden State Warriors doused the Portland Trailblazers, 137-122, at the Chase Center.
After a slow start of the season following blowout losses to Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, Stephen Curry has yet to gauge the load on his back without Klay Thompson. Thompson suffered a torn Achilles tendon during the team's summer training and is ruled out for the season.
Stephen Curry is Always up Against Portland
Previously, the Golden State Warriors won two straight games against Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons. Curry shot a combined 67 points in 40 percent shooting from the field in their two away games. However, the Warriors' streak was cut short by the Portland Trailblazers, who pounced on them with a 123-98 demolition on Saturday.
Stephen Curry posted 26 markers while only shooting a 45 percent field goal. He struggled outside with only four triples made out of 12.
Two days later, the Warriors were scheduled again for a face-off with the Trailblazers. This time, the six-time All-Star cracked Portland's defense with his hot shooting. His career-high 62 points were enough to silence the Blazers after their Saturday loss.
Stephen Curry was all over the court after besting his last career-high 54 points against New York Knicks in 2013. While it took more than six years to beat his achievement, one thing that stood out about his performance was the span of games after he made it.
Curry only made it in just six games of the season. He became the second oldest cager to record over 60 points in a single game.
Kobe Bryant was the first in the book after scoring 60 points in his last game against the Utah Jazz in 2016. He was 37 at that time.
Despite returning to the NBA after suffering from a wrist and ankle injury months ago, Stephen Curry could not be easily ignored when it comes to three-point shooting. The 32-year-old was lights out after sinking eight treys on 50 percent shooting.
When Curry reached 60 points, the rest of the Warriors embraced the two-time MVP. The bench went crazy after his 60th marker. That was the first 60-pointer since Klay Thompson in 2016.

Comments About Curry's Career-High
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr lauded Curry's performance against Portland. He told the reporters that it was just a brilliant display of the guard's skills.
"We've seen Steph do so many things over the years. It's just a privilege to coach him. It really is. And not just because of his talent, but because of the way he carries himself and the way he leads. We are incredibly blessed as an organization to have Steph leading the way," Kerr added.
His injured teammate, Klay Thompson, recognized his achievement on Twitter.
Portland coach Terry Stotts gave Curry respect after saying that it was a 'great' performance by a great player.
Kevin Love, Donovan Mitchell, Andre Iguodala, Pau Gasol, Ja Morant, Kevin Knox, and Jamal Crawford all praised Curry's stellar performance.
