Reigning Super Bowl champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers paid a visit to President Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday, and star quarterback Tom Brady had some jokes about former President Donald Trump in his much-anticipated return to the Oval Office.

When talking at the podium, the seven-time Super Bowl winner quipped about how few people thought Tampa Bay could win. Brady then delivered a zinger to those who continue to incorrectly believe that Biden lost the November presidential election to Trump.

Brady and Biden deliver laughs at Trump joke

"Not a lot of people think that we could have won," Brady said in his speech. "In fact, I think about 40% of the people still don't think we won." Biden was quick to reply to that statement, saying, "I understand that." Brady continued the joke, asking Biden, "You understand that, Mr. President?"

Brady also made fun of his blunder against the Chicago Bears last season when he forgot how many downs there were in the closing stages, saying people referred to him as "Sleepy Tom," a pointed reference to Trump's nickname for Biden during the election campaign. Brady asked Biden, "Why would they do that to me?" Biden again was a willing comedic partner, replying, "I don't know."

Brady's jokes will surely draw the ire of former President Trump, who up to this day continues to falsely claim that his loss to Biden back in November was a result of a rigged election full of voter fraud. Brady's quips sting even further for Trump because Brady is a known friend of the former commander-in-chief.

Brady had called to congratulate Trump when he shockingly won the 2016 presidential elections and even courted controversy when he was spotted with a Make America Great Again hat in his New England Patriots locker when Trump first started running for the highest post in the land.

The criticism he got with his association with Trump forced Brady not to go to the White House when the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl back in 2017, citing "personal family matters" as the reason. He offered the same kind of reasoning when he backed out of New England's visit to the White House in 2015, which was then under the leadership of President Barack Obama.

Brady visits White House for the first time since 2005

Brady's last visit to the White House for a Super Bowl-related event came in 2005 during George W. Bush's presidency. That speaks volumes about Brady's unprecedented longevity in the game, with his NFL career now entering its 22nd season.

Brady grabbed the headlines last week after news emerged that he played the entire 2020 season with a fully torn MCL in his left knee. That injury didn't deter Brady from producing one of his best NFL seasons as he led the Buccaneers to their second Super Bowl title.

He did it the hard way, leaving New England after 20 years and playing his first season with Tampa Bay during the COVID-19 pandemic. After starting the season with a 7-5 slate, Brady and the Bucs heated up, winning their last eight games in the regular season and the playoffs to win the championship and set the stage for Brady's return at the White House on Tuesday.
