We won't be seeing Gervonta Davis riding private planes anytime soon. On Saturday, the boxing superstar got in a near-fatal accident when the plane he was riding bound for Las Vegas crashed after aborting its takeoff.

According to Mike Jachles, the public information officer for the City of Fort Lauderdale, the plane was about to leave the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport when it suddenly experienced nose gear failure as it was taxiing down the runway. Shortly after, the nose gear collapsed and detached from the plane, causing the aircraft to veer off the runway.

Davis goes live on Instagram after plane crash

Fortunately for Davis and the rest of the passengers on board the flight, the plane didn't explode after the incident, with the Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Department quick on the scene to check the people on-site.

According to Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan, no passenger was transported medically from the scene. However, he did confirm that one unnamed patient was treated by paramedics on-site and that the said passenger refused to be transported to the hospital.

Fans of Davis were alerted to the incident after the boxer posted about the crash on his Instagram account. Davis eased fans' concerns, saying, "I'm good," but he admitted that he was still sweating and shaking after the plane crash.

Davis provided more details regarding the incident, saying the plane "took off, but it didn't take off," before showing the damaged aircraft in the video. He then said that his days of flying private were already over, telling his fans that "I'm driving or catching a train."

Some of Davis' fellow passengers in the plane chimed in during the impromptu video, saying that the pilots told them they didn't have control of the aircraft.

Davis vs. Paul feud continues to rage on

The question now is: will this affect Davis' plans for his next fight? The 26-year-old is coming off a spectacular knockout victory over Mario Barrios last June to win the WBA super lightweight title. Davis, who improved his record to a perfect 25-0 with the victory, hinted in interviews that he wants to return to the ring in October.

One guy that Davis won't fight is Jake Paul. Davis has long been embroiled in a Twitter feud with Paul with "Tank" even calling out the Youtuber for a showdown on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul boxing event. Paul didn't take the bait, but he stoked the flame once more when he included Davis on a hit list of fighters that he wanted to meet in the ring in the future.

Davis immediately responded, saying, "Jake Paul better leave me tf alone." Jake Paul continued his attacks on Davis, mocking the boxing star's height in a series of tweets. Jake Paul, who will be fighting UFC champion Tyron Woodley in a professional boxing match on August 29, did wish Davis well after the incident, saying, "bullshit aside.. glad you safe champ". However, Davis was not prepared to bury the hatchet, replying with "f*** ya" to Paul.
