The Utah Jazz are the last unbeaten team standing in the NBA after the Chicago Bulls and the Golden State Warriors suffered shock defeats on Thursday night. The Bulls lost by one point to the New York Knicks at United Center while the Warriors lost in overtime to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Chicago Bulls' rally falls short against New York Knicks

The Chicago Bulls suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 104-103 to the New York Knicks. The Bulls almost produced a comeback for the ages as they nearly erased a 13-point deficit in the final 2:13 of the game. Chicago went on a blistering 12-0 run to cut New York's lead to just one point.

Julius Randle then missed both of his free throws with 5.1 seconds remaining to give the Bulls an opportunity to steal the win in the end. For their final possession, the Bulls designed an option play that will give either Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic or DeMar DeRozan an opportunity to get the last shot.

Lavine's inbounds pass went into the hands of DeRozan, who decided to go for the game-winning jumper after faking a handoff to LaVine. DeRozan's attempt fell short, however, denying the Bulls a famous win. The Knicks and the Bulls are now tied with two other teams at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, all of them carrying similar 4-1 records.

Memphis stuns Golden State again in overtime thriller

Golden State's pursuit of perfection also came to an end on Thursday night as the Warriors absorbed a stinging 104-101 overtime loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Ja Morant once again broke Warriors' hearts, scoring 30 points, including a critical driving layup with 57.9 seconds remaining that gave the Grizzlies a three-point lead in overtime.

Stephen Curry went ice cold for the Warriors in fourth quarter and overtime, going scoreless in those two periods as he missed all six of his field goal attempts. Curry's struggles brought back painful memories of the Warriors' loss to the Grizzlies in the play-in game last season where he also missed a pair of key 3-pointers late in the contest.

Three other starters scored in double figures for the Grizzlies. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 19 and 15 points, respectively, while Steven Adams added 12 points. The Grizzlies now hold a 3-2 slate, one game behind the Warriors, who dropped down to 4-1.

Utah Jazz remain undefeated after four games

The Utah Jazz preserved their unbeaten record with a resounding 122-91 victory over the Houston Rockets. The Jazz used a balanced attack to destroy the Rockets, with seven Utah players scoring in double figures. Bojan Bogdanovic led all Jazz scorers with 19 points on 5 of 12 shooting from the field. The Jazz improved to 4-0 with the win.
