After a pulsating win over Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, Washington will head into its showdown against Dallas with momentum on its side. Can Washington keep its winning streak going against Dallas and move to within a game of the Cowboys for the NFC East lead? Here's a breakdown of the Dallas vs Washington matchup.

Dallas Cowboys enter Week 14 as -4.5 favorites

The Dallas Cowboys finally snapped their two-game losing skid on Thursday Night Football with a 27-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints. It was a big win for the Cowboys, who improved their record to 8-4 and remained in the hunt for the top seed in the NFC.

The Cowboys managed to pull off the win without head coach Mike McCarthy and five of his assistants, who were placed on the NFL's COVID-19 protocol days before the primetime clash. CeeDee Lamb led the way for Dallas in the Week 13 victory, recording 122 yards from scrimmage against New Orleans.

Next up for Dallas is a clash with NFC East rivals Washington in Maryland this coming Sunday. For Dallas to extend its division lead over Washington in Week 14, the Cowboys need to continue their excellent play on the defensive end. They put the clamps on Taysom Hill in the fourth quarter of their clash, intercepting the Saints quarterback three times in the final 6:32 of the contest, including a pick-six by Carlos Watkins with 2:52 remaining.

Dak Prescott is one guy who needs to step up for the Cowboys in that divisional matchup. He completed 26 of 40 passes for 238 yards with one touchdown and one interception against New Orleans.

The Cowboys lost both of their games against Washington last season, with Dallas averaging just 9.5 points in those two meetings. Prescott did not play in either of those games after suffering a season-ending ankle injury against the New York Giants.

Washington Football Team installed as +4.5 underdogs

Washington extended its winning streak to four games with a thrilling 17-15 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. It was a significant win for Ron Rivera's men, who jumped into sixth place in the NFC standings with a 6-6 record. It has been a remarkable turnaround for Washington, who had the second-worst record in the NFC just a month ago.

Taylor Heinicke starred for Washington in the Week 13 win, throwing two touchdown passes and setting up Brian Johnson's game-winning 48-yard field goal with 37 seconds left in the contest. In the fourth quarter, he found Logan Thomas for a seven-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive and threw a four-yard score to Antonio Gibson.

The win kept Washington in the race for the division title. They trail the Cowboys by two games in the NFC East, with both teams set to battle twice in the next three games. For Washington to gain further ground on Dallas in Week 14, they must establish the run game against the Cowboys. Washington racked up 112 yards rushing against Las Vegas, 88 of which came from Gibson on 23 carries.
