The Milwaukee Bucks have decided to part ways with head coach Mike Budenholzer following their disappointing first-round playoffs exit.

Milwaukee entered the 2022-23 postseason with high expectations. With Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the way and Khris Middleton healthy compared to last year, many see the Bucks as one of the favorites to win the title. Not to mention that they entered as the no. 1 seed in the postseason with the best record in the NBA at 58-24.

Bucks' Epic Fail Leads To Mike Budenholzer Exit

Unfortunately for the Bucks, despite being a really loaded team, they were unable to beat the eighth-seeded Miami Heat. Antetokounmpo's injury in their Game 1 loss certainly didn't help, as the Greek Freak eventually missed the next two contest.

Budenholzer guided the Bucks to victory in Game 2, but that's the only win they got as the Heat won the next three to move on.

On Thursday as the NBA Playoffs continues, the Bucks made the decision to fire Budenholzer, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

"BREAKING: The Milwaukee Bucks dismissed coach Mike Budenholzer, sources tell ESPN. Budenholzer is out after the East's top-seed suffered a first-round loss to the Miami Heat," Woj wrote on Twitter.

Budenholzer's job has been a major question mark since their playoffs exit, so the decision to remove him didn't really come as a surprise to many. Still, it speaks volumes on how much winning in the postseason matters for teams.

Remember, Budenholzer just led Milwaukee to the best record in the NBA but still got the ax.

It remains to be seen who the Bucks will target to replace Budenholzer. Whoever takes over Milwaukee, however, will have huge expectations on his shoulders since he'll be inherting a championship-caliber team.
