Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani dominated for the Los Angeles Angels as they pulled off a comfortable 9-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

Widely considered one of the best talents the sport has ever seen, Ohtani hit one of the hardest home runs of the season with his fourth-inning blast, with the ball traveling up to 456 feet at 114.6 mph to give the Angels a 7-4 lead.

Angels Superstar Shohei Ohtani Sustains Minor Neck Injury

While his performance was not a cause of concern, some fans noticed that Ohtani was pitching with discomfort during the course of the game.

Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher confirmed that the 28-year-old phenom was indeed suffering from a stiff neck. While the extent of the discomfort is still uncertain, Ohtani stated that he felt alright after the game.

"As of now it feels alright. Gotta see how it feels tomorrow," he said.

Angels manager Phil Nevin said that the 2021 AL MVP woke up with the injury this morning and was moving his head and neck around to assess the level of discomfort.

The Angels are set to face the Orioles three more times for the next three days, and it remains to be seen if Ohtani's injury will prevent him from taking action on the field for these games.
