Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James went on social media to share his grief upon the passing of legendary singer Tina Turner, who died peacefully in her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, after years of battling multiple illnesses, BBC News reported.

The hitmaker began living in Switzerland in 1994 and became a Swiss citizen in 2013, relinquishing her American citizenship.

Lakers Legends Show Grief Upon Tina Turner's Death

James expressed his reaction to the singer's death via Instagram Stories, wherein the NBA's all-time leading scorer took a photo of a television showing a music video of Turner's 1984 hit "What's Love Got to Do With It," the singer's best-selling single.

The song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2012.

James is not the only purple-and-gold legend to express their sadness due to the singer's demise.

Fellow Laker great Magic Johnson also tweeted that Turner is one of his favorite artists of all time. He called her "the legendary queen of rock n' roll," before sharing that he has seen a couple of Turner's shows live. Johnson is convinced she gave one of the best live shows he has ever seen.

The five-time champion also thinks that the legendary musician always gave the audience their money's worth.

The point guard added a photo with him alongside Turner and legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor to go along with the message.
