The Argentine has been linked to a sensational return to the Catalan club for months now, with FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta publicly stating that they will do everything to bring back arguably the greatest player of all time.

The soon-to-be ex-PSG player was seen in the city during the weekend at a concert by British band Coldplay.

He was enjoying himself when the crowd started chanting his name like they did during his playing days in Camp Nou. The superstar did not respond to the chants.

The band visited the training ground of FC Barcelona this past week.

Coldplay's song Viva La Vida was frequently played in the club's home ground Camp Nou during the time of manager Pep Guardiola from 2008 to 2012.

The tactician also used the song to motivate the players before big games, including Messi.

Messi spent almost all his professional career in Barcelona, coming to the youth academy in 2000 as a 13-year-old boy. He left in 2021 against his will due to the club's financial issues, having elevated the team to unprecedented footballing success.
