After an unusual early playoff exit for the Golden State Warriors, the team is reportedly planning to keep Jordan Poole for next season.

"Poole is not actively being shopped, there is no edict to cut salary, and his side has been given no current indication that his future will be elsewhere," Warriors insider Anthony Slater wrote for The Athletic.

The 23-year-old guard, who was an integral part of the 2022 NBA Championship squad, struggled mightily in this year's playoffs.

Poole averaged 10.3 points on 34.1% shooting, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists this postseason, down from his 17 points per game average in a 50.8% clip from the field in last year's playoffs.

The young guard has been the subject of numerous trade rumors after his disappointing display in Golden State's title defense campaign.

After his contributions in the 2022 title run, Golden State signed Poole to a massive four-year, $140 million extension last October which kicks in this upcoming season.

Poole will make $27.6 million for the 2023-24 season, a significant jump from the $3.9 million he made last year.

Warriors Keep Draymond Green and Jordan Poole

Even before the season began, the Warriors had already started the season on the wrong foot after Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole during the preseason in October. The situation worsened after TMZ released footage of the altercation.

The team did not suspend Green, but he was fined an unspecified amount.

Despite the punching incident, the Golden State Warriors organization is operating under the assumption that Green and Poole can be on the same roster again and push toward the same championship goal next season without issue.
