Buffalo Bills Prank Call: Two Men Accused of Recording Call Between Ex-Bills GM Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay Bucs GM Mark Dominik May Avoid Jail Time

Two Massachusetts men charged with invading a private conversation between former Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik could have those charges dropped.

WKBW.com is reporting that Joshua Barber and Nicholas Kaiser, both 20 years old last spring when the incident took place, entered a pre-trial diversion agreement with the federal government on Wednesday.

"Under the terms of the diversion agreement, Barber and Kaiser must abide by certain terms and conditions for the next 18 months. If they do so, the charges against them will be dropped. If not, the charges could be reinstated," WKBW.com reported.

In March, Barber and Kaiser set up a phone call between Nix and Dominik, recorded the conversation and sold the audio recording to Deadspin.com.

The pranksters originally called the Bills front office number and asked to talk to Nix, claiming to be Dominik, Deadspin.com reported. When the Bills operated transferred the call, they hung up. He kept calling their number into the next day.

The 20-year-olds then decided to call Dominik, claiming to be Nix. This time, the Buccaneers' operator transferred their call. During that transfer, Nix called them back. They put both parties on speaker phone and recorded the conversation.

Neither Nix nor Dominik had any idea that the call was being recorded. After an awkward exchange in which Nix tells Dominik he's been trying to call for two days, the two air some grievances about  random NFL issues and talk about trade possibilities.

Deadspin.com posted the audio recording of the conversation on its website, which led to the charges against Barber and Kaiser.
