JJ Reddick believes the Milwaukee Bucks did not make the right decision when it fired coach Mike Budenholzer shortly after their disappointing end to the 2023 season.

The Bucks exited in the most disappointing fashion as an overall No. 1 seed after losing to the eighth-seed Miami Heat in five games.

The team was so dejected they fired Budenholzer a few days after.

However, for Reddick, this was not an intelligent decision by the franchise.

"You had the number one seed, and Giannis got hurt five minutes or whatever it was into game one, and you made a coaching change," he said.

In some ways, you didn't get to see the full version of this team, Redick added.

The former NBA player made the comments in his podcast The Old Man and the Three.

Redick also commented on the situation of Giannis Antetokounmpo. He said the Bucks have a small window left in utilizing the prime of the Greek Freak, who is now entering his 11th season.

"Your window is not that open anymore. But I think with this group, you still have the opportunity to win because Giannis is that good."

The Bucks Quickly Moved on From Bud

Mike Budenholzer steered the Bucks to its first championship in 50 years after winning the 2021 championship.

The team did not have time to be sentimental as it quickly looked around for a replacement and landed former Toronto Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin.

Antetokounmpo reportedly had a big role in hiring a replacement for Bud. The two-time MVP even posted his new mentor on his official account, calling him "family."
