Draymond Green plans to decline the final year of his contract worth $27.5 million for the 2023-24 season.

The anchor of the Dubs dynasty will explore all options, including staying with the Warriors, sign-and-trade deals, and free agency.

Green's agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, told ESPN that they would continue to talk to the Warriors, and it was expected that the player would opt out of the final year of his contract to look through possible scenarios.

The 33-year-old signed a four-year, $100 million extension with Golden State in August 2019, which kicked in during the 2020-21 NBA season.

Since then, the feisty forward helped the franchise capture its fourth NBA championship in the past decade in 2022.

Warriors Want To Keep Draymond Green

New general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. will have a lot of work to do this summer, and one of them is convincing Green to stay in San Francisco.

Dunleavy said the franchise wants to keep Green, and the new top executive is confident they can navigate the situation.

Money is also not a problem, with the Warriors' ownership having the finances to keep a third of their championship core.

This past season started on a rocky note for Green, as he punched teammate Jordan Poole in the face during a preseason practice. Footage of the altercation leaked, and the Warriors forward was fined an unspecified amount but was not suspended.

Inconsistency plagued the Warriors during their title defense campaign, and the Los Angeles Lakers eliminated them in six games in the Western Conference Semifinals during the recent playoffs.
