Struggling New York Yankees can now at least sigh relief as manager Aaron Boone provides a fresh update on the recovery of star Aaron Judge.

The 2022 AL MVP was forced to become a spectator after suffering from a toe injury that he incurred after colliding with a wall at Dodger Stadium.

The Yankees have yet to give a timetable for the return of the 31-year-old outfielder, but Boone said the recovery is on the right path, and the second PRP shot in the area is doing its job.

He told reporters that while his captain has not done any baseball activities yet, Judge has already turned a corner on his rehab. The swelling is gone, and he "is able to do more things on the toe from a balance standpoint."

He also hopes this is the start of something good for Judge and the team.

"I'm encouraged by what I'm seeing and in conversations with him," Boone said. "And I feel he feels there's been a little bit of a breakthrough... Hopefully this is the start of him making real progress."

Judge left a huge void

The Yankees are just a shade of their real selves since Judge went out. The team lost eight of their 12 games.

The offense has struggled in the 12 games without Judge, losing eight.

The team activated Harrison Bader off the 10-day IL before their game against the Seattle Mariners.

Bader showed up at a time when the Yankees needed him the most, owning the plate from last year's postseason and early this year.

Though hounded by injuries, the 29-year-old was still able to record three home runs, stole four bases, and finished with two multi-hit games in his last ten appearances.
