As expected, the San Antonio Spurs have selected the biggest prospect in basketball with the first overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft.

The 7-foot-4 Victor Wembanyama became the first player to shake hands with Adam Silver on Thursday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The night's real surprise came at the ensuing selection when the Charlotte Hornets decided to select Alabama forward Brandon Miller as the second overall pick.

The whole Charlotte Hornets organization has been all-in on the 6-foot-9 wing. Ownership, front office, scouts, and coaches see him as a perennial future All-Star player, as per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 20-year-old notably talked trash with Hornets owner Michael Jordan during a workout.
With the Hornets' selection, point guard Scoot Henderson, widely considered the second-best prospect in the draft, fell to the Portland Trail Blazers as the 3rd overall pick.
The Hornets likely passed up on Henderson due to potential fit issues, as the 19-year-old plays the same position as their franchise cornerstone LaMelo Ball.

Thompson Twins Round Up Top Five
Twins Amen and Ausar Thompson went fourth and fifth in the draft, rounding up the top five.
They became the first set of twins to be selected in the top 10 of the same draft and the first twins to go back-to-back since the Morris brothers went 13th and 14th in 2011.

Both of the Thompson twins played for the G-League team Overtime Elite before being drafted, and their mom Maya was immensely proud of her boys even before they shook hands with Adam Silver.
