The Golden State Warriors have decided to pair Stephen Curry with Chris Paul after the latter sent Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards and two draft picks.

Such a situation does not seem real for many fans as the two were bitter rivals in the Western Conference for the most part of their careers. Some also point to the salary situation of the Warriors as the reason why this tandem might not take place, and Golden State is not the last stop for CP3.

But it is happening, at least according to The Athletic Writer Marcus Thompson.

"I'm told Chris Paul is playing for Golden State. This isn't a part of another deal. CP3 is a Warrior," he wrote on his Twitter account.

Reports also say that this move by the Oakland-based team is not just for a salary dump. The Warriors are looking for a complementary point guard for their two-time MVP as they continue to try to contend.

Rivalry with Stephen Curry

The league has seen many former teammates who became rivals in their careers. There is Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest and Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond. This CP3-Steph could be the opposite of it.

Paul came three years earlier than Steph, and their personal competition only became apparent during the Clippers-Warriors match-up in 2015. Draymond Green said Curry aimed to be better than Paul.

During CP3's time with the Phoenix Suns, Curry was seen and heard yelling to his rival during a heated argument, "This ain't 2014," alluding to the time CP3 was better.

While their personal competition seems tense on the court, the two are friends outside of basketball.

Paul said he had already talked to Steph Curry, and when asked about his role for the Warriors, he said it is to win games.
