Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce gave their take on Jimmy Butler's comments about the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The former teammates sat down on KG Certified and couldn't help but speak on the Miami Heat star's stance.

Butler previously said during the NBA Finals that he would not be attending his own Hall of Fame ceremony if given the prestigious honor.

Pierce thinks that the whirlwind of emotions during the intense championship round may have contributed to Butler's answer, and he expects him to give a different response when his emotions are settled down.

Meanwhile, Garnett thought Butler answered the question "unequivocally," noting that the Heat forward doubled down on his response.

"You cannot disrespect the Hall of Fame. It is a hell of an honor. I mean, not everybody gets there," Pierce firmly said.

When asked by Garnett if Butler deserves to be inducted in Springfield, Pierce did not hesitate to say yes, noting his incredible playoff performances throughout his career, unexpectedly leading the Miami Heat to two NBA Finals appearances in 2020 and 2023.

Jimmy Butler Won't Attend Hall Of Fame Ceremony

The Miami Heat star declared the comments right before Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals, where they were down 1-3 and on the verge of losing the series.

When asked what it would mean for him to be in the Hall of Fame, the forward said that "he could not care less."

"It's an individual thing. I'm not for the individual type of stuff. I'm really not. I'm like a team guy," Butler added.
