Red Bull Motorsport Advisor Helmut Marko broke his silence regarding Sergio Perez's future with Red Bull amid his struggles on track.

The 80-year-old executive confirmed that despite the Mexican's inconsistent performance for the past five races, he is expected to keep his seat for now.

"His position is not in danger at all," Marko said.

Perez's struggles reached a new low in Silverstone, where he failed to get past Q1 in qualifying despite having the most dominant car on the grid. The 33-year-old has missed Q3 for the past five races after claiming the pole position in Miami six races ago.

On the other hand, teammate Max Verstappen has qualified for pole position for five consecutive races and won the last six Grand Prix.

Despite his struggles, Perez remains second in the Drivers' standings owing to his victories in Jeddah and Baku, although his gap to championship leader Verstappen has widened to 99 points.

One thing that is saving Sergio Perez's job

Marko explained the one thing that is saving Sergio Perez's seat in Red Bull.

"He usually delivers good races," the Austrian mentioned.

Despite the struggles in qualifying, he has done a good job climbing through the field on race days, even claiming a podium during last week's Austrian Grand Prix.

Overall, Red Bull is still happy to lead the Constructors' title race by a wide margin and have both drivers 1-2 in the Drivers' standings.

"There's no need for action at the moment. There's no one who could replace him," Marko added.
