Kamara, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons, Darrin Young and Percy Harris were each indicted by a Clark County grand jury on a felony charge of battery with substantial bodily harm and a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit battery in connection with an alleged attack on Darnell Greene outside Drai's After Hours nightclub at The Cromwell Las Vegas during the NFL Pro Bowl weekend on February 05, 2022.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara will no longer go through a long criminal prosecution after pleading no contest to a lesser misdemeanor charge stemming from a Las Vegas brawl.

The initial lawsuit, filed by Darnell Greene, asked for $10 million in damages. Kamara will now instead pay $100,000 for Greene's medical bills and serve 30 hours of community service.

The settlement news was shared by the plaintiff's attorney, who also released an apology statement from the NFL player.

"Please accept my sincere apologies for the events of February 5, 2022 in Las Vegas. I am happy that we are able to get on the other side of this unfortunate incident, and I wish you the best for the future," Kamara wrote.

The incident occurred in February 2022 at a nightclub in Las Vegas and was caused by an elevator dispute. Footage showed Kamara and other men beating Greene unconscious.

Kamara was arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center for battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Kamara is not yet off the hook from the NFL

Kamara has put away the criminal prosecution, but the league remains tied to the case.

The player will be disciplined under the league's Personal Conduct Policy. The league will investigate the matter, and a penalty will be meted out if deemed necessary.

"We have been closely monitoring all developments in the matter which remains under review," the NFL said in a statement.
