Recovering from a long injury is one thing. Returning to a house you once ruled and now completely overhauled is another.

Kyler Murray's fourth year as a pro ended abruptly after suffering an ACL injury. His road to recovery has been smooth, but he will have to do more once he returns as his team, the Arizona Cardinals, will feature a new-look offense with him no longer a prominent figure.

The team introduced a new coaching staff while some key players were in recovery.

Coach Jonathan Gannon, who joined the team right after losing the Super Bowl as part of the Philadelphia Eagle's defense coach, is not worried about Murray's fit in his offensive scheme, for he believes in the capability of the quarterback.

"Reps are your biggest tool for learning, but he's played a lot of football, and he's an extremely intelligent person," Gannon said. "A guy that has played at a high level for a long time, I'm not as worried as much. He doesn't need to bank 100 reps. He's seen Cover 3 and all the ways to play it."

"He'll have some rust he'll have to knock off but he'll be ready to go."

Murray is raring to come back as a wiser player

There is no timetable yet for Murray's return from injury, but he is not bothered by the organizational changes.

"I've got to respect the person or understand the ins and outs or the rhymes and reasons for what we are doing," he said on the club website.

"I'm going to listen. I'm going to be coachable and I'm going to do it to the best of my ability, but if the (expletive) ain't working, at some point, we all have to look in the mirror."
