Yankees Injury Report: Aaron Judge Makes Significant Progress From Toe Issue

The sun is peeking for the gloomy New York Yankees as the new Aaron Judge injury update reveals that the star outfielder is now running bases.

Judge has been out of the team since June 3 after suffering a toe injury during the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also eventually missed the 2023 All-Star Game because of it.

The Yankees could soon use a player of Judge's caliber with their season on the line.

The team has lost eight of their last 10 games and failed to register a series win against the last five teams they faced.

They are currently fifth in the American League East and 3.0 games behind a wild card spot.

Manager Aaron Boone's update

While the video shows Judge already running bases, manager Aaron Boone still cannot give a return date for his player.

All he knows is that the five-time All-Star is "getting close."

"He's getting close. He's doing pretty well," Boone said during an interview with the Talkin Yanks podcast. "The running progression that he's going through - he's able to do a lot more than even he was a week ago when he was moving in a good direction."

Last week, Judge reportedly engaged in an anti-gravity treadmill routine and participated in batting practice.

According to Boone, his return will also entail a change of role in the team.

Boone shared that Judge will play "probably more DHs in there than normally for him."
