Reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen is the fastest driver in Formula 1 right now, ruling 10 of the 12 Grand Prix held this season so far and winning the last eight consecutively.

However, his domination of the competition doesn't mean he could bring his speed on public roads.

The two-time world champion is in danger of being prosecuted for "endangering the lives of others" after a leaked video of him driving an Aston Martin Valkyrie supercar surfaced, filmed by a cousin of his partner Kelly Piquet.

The 25-year-old violated several laws while driving, including driving at 124 km/h instead of the 90 km/h limit.

The Red Bull star also kept the supercar in the left-hand lane, which is prohibited under the Highway Code of France.

Reports vary on which road Verstappen was driving on, but it is likely either in Monaco or beyond its border, which is part of France.

The French General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie has a team that tracks down videos of motorists going over the speed limit on different social media platforms.

Aston Marton Valkyrie is not just an ordinary supercar

The Aston Martin supercar is a collaboration between British luxury car brand Aston Martin and Verstappen's F1 team, Red Bull Racing.

The Valkyrie was given input by Red Bull Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey, widely considered one of the greatest engineers in Formula One history.

The production model of the car began deliveries in 2022, fetching a price of around $3 million.
