Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow is back in practice for the team last Wednesday, more than a month after sustaining a scary calf injury in the early days of training camp on July 27.

The 26-year-old participated in all the throwing drills alongside assistant Dan Pitcher and the team's backups in the quarterback position, Jake Browning and the newly-signed Will Grier from the Dallas Cowboys.

"It felt good, just to see him out there, see the big smile on his face," Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins said.

There is a good chance that the 2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year will play in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season.

The Bengals are set to open the upcoming campaign on Sunday, September 10, against the Cleveland Browns on the road at the Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The 2022 Pro Bowl selection practiced without any type of sleeve on his calf. There were also no signs of limp, pain, or any concern.

Burrow underwent almost five weeks of rehab and recovery, going through his normal throwing session on his return.

Going into his fourth season in the league, Burrow is eligible for a lucrative contract extension, which could make him one of the highest-paid players in the NFL. His calf injury was a cause of concern amid the contract talks, but he seems to be on the way to full strength.

The Bengals selected him as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
