A proposed trade by Bleacher Report could shift the landscape of the Eastern Conference and send aftershocks around the league.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created a mock trade between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, wherein the two teams will exchange superstars.

Full details of the trade are as follows:

Boston Celtics will get: Donovan Mitchell

Cleveland Cavaliers will get: Jaylen Brown, Payton Pritchard, and a 2024 first-round pick (top-four protected via the Golden State Warriors)

Buckley proposed the transaction as part of an article listing realistic trade packages for every team's worst contract.

Brown signed the largest deal in NBA history at the end of July, a five-year extension worth $304 million.

However, lingering questions have been about how he will fit with the Celtics' other star and unquestionably their best player, Jayson Tatum, who is eligible for an even bigger extension next year at $338 million.

Meanwhile, the Cavs will be guaranteed to have a star until 2028, in case they are anxious about losing Mitchell in free agency in 2025.

Questions about Tatum and Brown's fit

Many have pointed out that Tatum and Brown have similar playing styles, and adding a dynamic guard like Mitchell could solve the Cetlics' puzzle and put them over the top.

With a massive financial investment needed to keep the duo, the Celtics would thoroughly need to analyze if they think that the pair of Tatum and Brown would lead them to a title.
