Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev issued a brutal warning during his U.S. Open quarterfinal match against Andrey Rublev on Wednesday.

Visibly frustrated and exhausted due to the intense heat inside the playing venue, the world No. 3 spoke directly to the camera while wiping his sweat-drenched face with a towel.

"One player is gonna die, and they're gonna see," the 27-year-old said.

Temperatures inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium reached up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius), with the retractable roof slightly open, causing the sunlight to shine directly on the court.

Medvedev continued to rant after the game, lamenting that there isn't much that can be done about the situation because it would be impossible to stop the tournament for a few days to wait for cooler temperatures.

Such an event could ruin the schedule of the tournament on television, as well as the tickets that fans bought to watch live, per the player.

The former world No. 1 added that he needed an ice bath and something to eat after departing the court.
