Cleveland Browns right tackle Jack Conklin will be out for the rest of the season after picking up a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) on his left knee, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 29-year-old sustained the injury during the second quarter of their Week 1 win over state rivals Cincinnati Bengals, and it will require a season-ending surgery.

Browns defensive end Trey Hendrickson hit Conklin's left knee, and it buckled awkwardly.

"Very, very disappointed for Jack. He's a huge part of this team. When he gets this surgery, and when he's ready, he's going to be back in this building helping us, because he's a big part of that offensive line room," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said.

Fourth-round pick rookie Dawand Jones replaced Conklin during Sunday's game after he was carted off the field.

The former Michigan State player arrived in Cleveland in the 2020 offseason after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans.
