Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has acquired a waterfront property in the gated Bay Colony neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to real estate news outlet The Real Deal.
The World Cup winner and his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, purchased the 10,500-square-foot, eight-bedroom estate at 91 Compass Lane for a staggering price of $10.8 million.
The home is five miles and a 15-minute drive from Inter Miami's home, DRV PNK Stadium, and the team's training facility adjacent to the playing venue.
John and Stacy Dickerson were the previous owners of the home, and they bought the whole place for $9 million in May 2022, giving them a 20 percent profit in 16 months upon the transaction with the global star.
Messi officially joined Inter Miami last July and has been spotted searching for a house across South Florida from Fort Lauderdale to Boca Raton.
Bell and whistles of the house
The luxurious mansion features a large waterfront pool, a gym, a spa room, and an Italian kitchen. In addition, it also has an entertainment lounge, VIP and Captain's suites, and offices.
Messi and his wife's room spans 1,600-square feet. The house was built in 1988, and it was expanded in 2000, according to property records.
The 36-year-old also owns three luxury condominiums in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. One is a unit in the exclusive Porsche Design Tower, which features a car lift that allows the owners' vehicles to be on the same floor as their unit.
